CGA News and Notes-Sunday August 28, 2016

Good evening friends. Ron, Melissia, Natalie and I had a wonderful time at the 20th anniversary celebration of the CGA ministry. The dinner and praise rally were outstanding events. The weather was hot both days we played golf (upper 90's). We played better in the practice round than we did in the actual tournament. We shot 73 in the practice round and 77 in the Churches Challenge on Saturday. Ron commented to Tom Winstead that many of you would have enjoyed the entire weekend.

We play our next outing this Thursday, September 1st, at Riverbend at 5pm.
The outing at Polish Pines in Keyser on Labor Day Monday is still in need of players. We need around 4 players to keep this outing on. We now have 8 players scheduled to participate:
Mike Hinkle
Charlie Straley
Mike Franklin
Clay Persinger
Ezra Richards
Greg Abel
Jerry Abel
John Hinkle
The deadline is this Thursday September 1st. At that time we will decide what to do. The cost is $40 per player.
We play at Buckhannon CC on Monday September 19th and at Preston CC on Saturday September 24th. We need at least 12 for Preston CC and we now have the following 7:
Mike Hinkle
Darrell/Michelle Linger
Bob Kincaid
Ron/Melissia Lamb
Charlie Straley
The cost is $37 per player payable to the CGA.
The Buckhannon CC outing is a makeup date. We had the following scheduled to play tomorrow. If you want your name removed from this list for the 19th let me know.
Lynn Rexroad
Larry Wamsley
Charlie Straley
Darrell/Michelle Linger
Tom Shackleford
Dennis Bailey

Clay Persinger

Have a great week. May God be with you.
God bless

Mike

Verse of the Day
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! — Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV)
