You play golf out in the elements. That is for sure. Today, the
elements included cool temps, light rain, windy conditions and a very
wet Riverbend Golf Course. But, we still played with the brave souls
that withstood the conditions. We played with 2 teams of 3 players:
Harry Grose, Charlie Straley, Mike Hinkle vs. Ken Riffle, Clay
Persinger,Darrell Linger
The team of Harry, Charlie and Mike won on the 2nd playoff hole.

This concludes the 2014 CGA golf season for our chapter. The Board
will meet on Monday November 10th to discuss plans for the 2015
season. Any suggestions can be emailed to me before this meeting.
Our annual Christmas dinner and awards ceremony is Friday December
12th at the Steer Steakhouse in Weston starting at 6pm.

We had a wonderful day at Lakeview yesterday. The warm temps, leaves
blowing all over the place and great fun. We had 13 take part in our

Our last outing of 2014 is this Saturday October 18th at Riverbend. It
is our annual Match Play tournament. We will begin registration at 9am
with coffee/doughnuts in the clubhouse. We will do devotions/prayer at
9:30am and start play at 10am. It will be a 2 person scramble format
with husbands/wives playing together and men drawing for a partner.
Please check your email around 8:15am to see if the weather is a
factor.

We were only able to get in 3 holes before a lightning storm ended
play this evening. Thanks to God for his protection as a strike of
lightning was felt by several on the course. The strike knocked both
Phil and I to the ground up on the 4th tee and was also felt by
several others.

last night with rain showers passing by on all sides. We had 13
players (4 teams) participate. It is great to have Dan Hoover back
with us and we want to welcome Randy and Nick Woods to the CGA.
