CGA News and Notes-Saturday July 5, 2014

Good Saturday evening to all of you. I hope your 4th was safe and fun.
The Lord blessed us with one of the best weather 4th of July’s I can
remember.
I hope you can join us at Riverbend this Thursday July 10th for our
annual Par 3 outing. Let’s see if we can fill the course with 36
players. We will start registration at 5pm, hold devotions and prayer
at 5:30pm and set the 4somes at 5:45pm. We plan to tee off by 6pm. We
will give away $225 worth of cards to various restaurants for the
closest to the pin winners. If a player gets a hole in one they will
win all 9 cards. We will play individual play for this outing (Max
score of a 6 per hole). Following golf we will have ice cream in the
clubhouse provided by the Chapter. To make things interesting we will
throw out one hole randomly to determine the order of finish. We are
playing the course backwards this year which makes 9 unique holes to
try.
If we do not pick up some last minute entrants for the July 14th
outing at Bridge Haven/Nicholas GC by tomorrow evening at 9pm this
outing most likely will be cancelled. I will make the announcement
tomorrow evening to let those know who have signed up to play. To
enter you can email me or give me a call. We currently have 7
entrants.
The deadline to enter the Buckhannon CC outing on the 21st and the
Greenbrier outing on Labor Day is July 15th.
Hope you have a great Sunday. Praise the Lord for his goodness and mercy.
God be with you all.
Mike

Verse of the Day
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! — Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV)
